  • A very compact Nikkor telephoto zoom lens for the Nikon Pronea APS SLR cameras (see below), supplied with an adapter for use on Sony NEX Sony digital compact system cameras with manual focusing

This is an extremely compact and lightweight IX Nikkor 60-180mm tele zoom lens for the Nikon Pronea APS SLR cameras with auto or manual focusing, and full Nikon D compatibility. While IX lenses will NOT fit Nikon 35mm or digital SLR models, they can be used manually on digital compact system cameras, and an adapter for the popular Sony NEX and A3000 models is supplied (see below). The lens and adapter are in very good condition, and front/rear caps are included.

The handy zoom range (equivalent to around 75-225mm on 35mm cameras) covers all popular telephoto focal lengths, and is ideal for great pictures of sports, portraits, children, wildlife, travelling and many other subjects. It makes an ideal second lens for the Pronea cameras, complementing the 20-60mm, 30-60mm or 24-70mm IX Nikkor standard zoom lenses.

Focusing is automatic (on Pronea) or manual down to 1.2m (4 feet) at all focal lengths. There's a wide zoom ring with rubber grip, and a manual focus ring at the front, with ribbed surface for better handling. Automatic diaphragm and full aperture metering, compatible with all exposure and metering modes, including modes such as 3D Matrix which require D lenses. Maximum aperture is f/4.5-5.6, and the lens stops down to a smaller than usual f/32-38 for maximum depth of field.

Multicoated (MC) glass for reduced flare against the light, with increased contrast and colour fidelity. Standard 46mm thread for filters and other accessories. This lens is very compact and lightweight for its range at only around 70mm (2.75 inches) long on the camera at its smallest settings and 220g, so there's no excuse for not carrying it around. Please note that there are two slightly different versions of the IX-Nikkor 60-180mm lens. This silver coloured version is slightly smaller and lighter than the black one, but slower and made in Thailand instead of Japan.

    Digital Compact System Cameras
IX Nikkor lenses can be used manually on Sony NEX and E-Mount digital cameras with the adapter supplied. You set the camera to A (aperture priority) auto exposure mode, select an aperture manually on the lens adapter, focus manually using the ring on the lens (the image can be magnified to help with this), and the camera will then set the shutter speed automatically. The zoom range provides a field of view approximately equal to 90-270mm, for extra telephoto power and magnification. It provides a smaller and lighter alternative to the Sony E 55-200mm lens, without AF or image stabilisation, but at around a quarter of the price...

An essential tele zoom lens for Nikon Pronea users, and a handy option for users of Sony NEX digital cameras!

While IX lenses will NOT fit Nikon 35mm or digital SLR cameras, they can be used manually on digital compact system cameras such as Olympus and Panasonic Micro Thirds or Sony NEX (with a suitable adapter - not included). This one's in excellent condition and comes with lens caps.

Maximum aperture is f/4-5.6, and the lens stops down to a smaller than usual f/32-45 for maximum depth of field.

Multicoated (MC) glass for reduced flare against the light, with increased contrast and colour fidelity. Standard 52mm thread for filters and other accessories. This lens is nicely made yet compact and lightweight for its range at only around 75mm (3 inches) long on the camera at its smallest settings, and 270g, so there's no excuse for not carrying it around. Please note that there are two slightly different versions of the IX-Nikkor 60-180mm lens. This black version is slightly larger and heavier than the silver one, but faster and more solidly made (in Japan instead of Thailand).

Digital Compact System Cameras
IX Nikkor lenses can be used manually on some digital cameras including Olympus and Panasonic Micro Four Thirds or Sony NEX with a suitable adapter (not included - see below). You'd set the camera to A (aperture priority) auto exposure mode, select an aperture manually on the lens adapter, focus manually using the ring on the lens (the image can be magnified to help with this), and the camera will then set the shutter speed automatically. The equivalent focal length ranges are approximately 120-360mm (MFT) and 90-270mm (NEX).
