When it comes to design in ultraportables, it's hard to top Apple's MacBook Air. That doesn't stop competitors from trying, though. The Lenovo IdeaPad U260 is a bold, high-design 12.5-inch laptop that's thin, light, and very easy on the eye. The Lenovo IdeaPad U260 is a sleekly designed, beautifully constructed 12-inch ultraportable; it's just a shame its world-class looks are undermined by an underperforming battery.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Y510p suffers from being a very good gaming laptop in a crowded category where it is not the very best. Despite this, it's a well-built gaming rig, and it will play even demanding high-end games without so much as a stutter. While the Editors' Choice MSI GX60 1AC-021US remains our top pick due to its longer battery life and affordability, the IdeaPad Y510p is a good machine, and worth looking at if you want gaming prowess combined with Lenovo's reliability.
Is the Lenovo IdeaPad S10 the best netbook currently on the market and the best value for your dollar? Well, the answer isn’t simple, particularly considering the way that new netbooks seem to arrive every week. The S10 does several things right that we wish more manufacturers did with their netbooks.
What really struck me, however, is the keyboard on this notebook. Lenovo Ideapad 500S’ keyboard is backlit (which is rare in this price range) and performs really well. Lenovo Ideapad 500S’ keys are bouncy and extremely responsive. With a travel of 1.65mm, the actuation point of keys is really impressive. If you type a lot, this keyboard will be a joy to type on. The strong point about this keyboard is the backlit. Yes, we finally have backlit keyboard on a laptop that costs just a little over Rs 50,000. The backlit works in two stages and makes it extremely convenient to type in a darkly lit room.
