As much as we do not like to pay additional taxes, there is not much you can do to change the governmental taxes portion.     We changed from AT&T U-Verse service to Direct TV service. It has been a mess from the beginning of the transition. Originally our order was written up wrong and had to be changed at instillation - resulting in higher than advertised fees. Then we continued to receive bills for our disconnected U-Verse service long after we discontinued and returned all the U-Verse hardware. Now they have bundled our Direct TV service with other AT&T programs and my first bundled bill is not showing the correct charges. I understand that this first bill has more than one billing period on it. But #1) we cancelled the special programs packages before the introductory free period ran out and there are still charges on our bill for that, and #2) the Ultimate monthly charges are significantly higher than the rate I was sold. Bottom line - my charges for the last Direct TV monthly service was $107.07 and now my bundled Direct TV monthly charges are showing as $156.85. I can't get the people on the customer service line to see this and help me and my local AT&T office has not helped me. There are all kinds of credits on the bill - but the bottom lien is that my charges after all is done are significantly higher.

So I agreed and am thankful I wrote down everything I was told and took pictures offline of the package that I choose because ever since my first bill has arrived a month ago I have spent 15+ hours on the phone, have spoke with at least 8-10 different people and still my billing is not correct. My first bill arrived and it was for $105.99, $40 more than what I should have been billed. When I spoke with AT&T I was transferred around and hung up on 2 time within the first day of me contacting them about this problem. I felt like they thought I was lying about the price it should be because they had NO promotions on my account whatsoever. After speaking with 5 different people that first day and being hung up on I was credited $75 on that first bill for my trouble and promised that my next bill would be the corrected amount.
